“There are numerous avenues for artistic expression, and at the core, I identify myself as a painter. However, recent years, marked by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, have profoundly influenced not only my painting but also my entire artistic exploration. It became imperative to adapt and find innovative ways to showcase artwork when physical exhibitions were no longer feasible. Collaborating with fellow artists, we embraced the possibilities offered by emerging virtual reality technologies.

This shift in focus has allowed me to delve into new realms of creativity, exploring video art and crafting digital sculptures in mesmerizing 3D. Embracing these digital mediums has opened up exciting avenues for experimentation and expression. In addition, I have had the opportunity to curate a virtual exhibition space, reimagining the traditional gallery experience for the digital realm.

Through these new artistic ventures, I continue to evolve as an artist, adapting to the challenges of our times while pushing the boundaries of my own creative process. The convergence of technology and art has given rise to a fascinating fusion, enabling me to reach wider audiences and engage with them in innovative ways. It is a testament to the resilience and adaptability of art in the face of adversity.” – Matteo Casali
